About

I build software that solves real business problems — applying the right skills I have today and learning whatever the problem demands tomorrow.

With 10+ years across fintech (Rocket Mortgage), government (Arizona DES), and HR-tech (OneSource Virtual), I’ve learned that the hardest engineering problems are rarely just technical. They’re about understanding what a business actually needs and finding the most reliable path to get it there.

At Rocket Mortgage, that looked like migrating a Tier-1 API to AWS with 30% less downtime and 70% faster response times, building Terraform IaC that made load tests 90% more accurate, and leading the effort that saved $1M+/year by reducing loan cures. A 13TB database purged to 5TB. CI/CD pipelines that cut build time by 60% and moved deployments from monthly to bi-weekly.

At OneSource Virtual, I lead the team on security, modernization, and delivery — architecting a Cloud Key Vault-based configuration library that made app secrets secure and maintainable across services, leading a cross-functional team to migrate a Salesforce portal to a React + .NET API architecture delivered in 3 months, and designing a unified PKCE MFA authentication layer across all internal and external UIs using .NET Razor.

On the side, I’m learning and exploring AI/ML and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) — building POCs to understand where these tools genuinely fit and where they don’t. Still early, but intentional.

Outside of shipping products, I mentor engineers and run knowledge-sharing sessions on coding standards, design patterns, and software craft. Mentoring has always been a two-way process for me — I grow as much from it as the engineers I work with.
